U-CH. Braehead's Hi-Hope for Mt. Mist "Hope"

Hope earned her UKC Championship on June 27, 2010 at her 5th consecutive show! She's been shown by her owner Lorrie Moule in a total of 6 UKC shows, and she has earned (6) Bet of Breed wins and (4) group placements! Congratulations to Lorrie & Hope!

Angus, owned by Joanne Ott of Colorado is having a very busy year! He earned his AKC CGC in March (see below) and on June 11 Augus passed his therapy dog test! ( TEAM Training Course, Skills & Aptitude Screening Evaluation)
Angus and Joanne will now be shadowing another team as they visit hospitals etc., until they get to know the ropes. Congratulations to them both!

A small gathering of the Braehead extended family took place at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield MA on May 2nd. It was wonderful to see all who were able to attend this impromtu gathering! The AWSA Nationals will also be held at the fairgrounds this year in September, we hope to see some of you there!

The National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) held an
Odor Recognition Test (ORT) on March 30, 2010 in Boxford Massachusetts.

During this test, the leashed dog and handler team enters a room where there are
many boxes placed on the floor. The handler must announce to the judge when
the the dog alerts on the box containing the odor, which was birch.

The team gets only 3 minutes and one opportunity to be correct, and I'm proud to announce that all three girls were awarded their birch Certification by judge Penelope Scott-Fox.

Getty, Vanna & Hope are the first white shepherds to be certified on birch scent!

The OFA tracks hip submissions by breed.
From Jan. 1974 - Dec. 2009 total of 97,930 hip submissions for German Shepherd dogs were evaluated by OFA. Only 3.8% of the submissions have received an EXCELLENT rating!
